Will AI Replace Coaching?

Well, to be honest, parts of it already have.
AI can write reflections.
Summarize sessions.
Track progress.
Even ask some decent coaching questions.
It’s efficient.
It’s cheap.
It never sleeps.
But that’s not coaching...that’s processing.
Coaching lives in the pause.
In the silence just before the client says the thing they’ve been avoiding.
In the breath just before the insight lands.
In the human connection that can’t be replaced by an algorithm.
A good coach doesn’t wait for those moments...they create them.
Through presence and curiosity.
Through listening and observing.
By holding space for what wants to emerge.
That’s the work AI can’t touch.
And that's worth protecting.
