Roberta Bensky is a certified professional development coach and a management consultant. She is accredited as a Gestalt Professional Certified Coach (GPCC™) with the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation.
She is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of management experience in international organizations including the World Bank, the OECD, Norwegian Red Cross and Norwegian Refugee Council.
Roberta has lived and worked in the US, Canada, France, Norway, India and Sri Lanka. She speaks English (native), French and Norwegian. When she's not working, you'll probably find Roberta on her bike!

The word gestalt is a German that translates most closely to "form" or "pattern". Gestalt coaching is concerned with the way in which we do, say, approach, experience and think about things.
Gestalt coaching combines traditional coaching methodology with the core principles of gestalt:
A focus on the here and now in which the coaching process follows the client's experience, staying with what is present and aware.
An emphasis on the unique experience of the client that includes emotions, perceptions, behavior and body sensations, as well as memories and ideas.
Use of creative experimentation in which the coach ‘tests’ out hunches against the client's experience and modifies accordingly. This can be a powerful experience in the coaching relationship.
A relationship that is co-created is central to the change process. Presence, dialogue and the visibility of the coach characterize a co-created relationship of client and coach.
The coaching relationship begins with an initial consultation to find out if we are a good fit. There is no cost for this meeting. A coaching agreement will then be signed by all parties involved in the coaching program (this could include a sponsor/manager if coaching is provided through the workplace). The agreement sets out the responsibilities of each party in the coaching relationship and addresses issues such as confidentiality, fees, schedules, etc. We meet virtually, about twice a month.
As a coach, my role is to create awareness of possible choices and help you take responsibility and ownership for the decisions you make. I provide a safe space, lots of support and, when appropriate, challenge you in this journey.
As a client, you set your goals and are responsible for the outcomes. You bring to each coaching session a genuine curiosity and openness. You are ready for change.
Our work focuses on meeting your goals within a framework that keeps us on track. We work through your challenges and celebrate your successes along the way.

In addition to a vision with clear objectives and expected outcomes, successful change requires clear and timely communication, appropriate consultation, and regular monitoring and reporting on progress.
